SUMMA LINGUAE TECHNOLOGIES ANNOUNCES USHA SUNKAD AS GLOBAL IT MANAGER
Summa Linguae Technologies has made another key addition to its growing leadership team.
Usha Sunkad has joined SLT as the Global IT Manager. In this role, Sunkad will be responsible for the company’s global IT and technology roadmap, implementing the company’s IT strategy, managing the technology infrastructure, and leading the company’s IT teams across the globe.
Sunkad comes to this role with over 15 years of experience in the fields of localization and technology. Prior to this role, Sunkad led a team of 30 at TransPerfect, providing quality assurance for their language technology products. She also previously worked with well-known global brands like SDL and Hewlett-Packard (HP).
Sunkad’s personal ambitions are aligned with SLT’s goal of being a data-driven language service provider.
“Data is the new oil. AI and NLP are no longer the technologies of the future. Advances in these technologies are already making a significant impact in almost every industry, and the language industry is no different.”
Most exciting to Sunkad is SLT’s extensive technology roadmap.
“Summa Linguae has the goal of uniting localization software systems into data tools that will allow us to provide analytics and visualizations that are crucial for making insightful business decisions. This project is a perfect combination of Data Science and Localization. Given my extensive experience in the language technology industry, I knew I could contribute immensely.”
Sunkad lived in Boulder, Colorado for 15 years before moving to Bengaluru, India (formerly Bangalore). Sunkad will report to COO Madhuri Hegde and will be based out of SLT’s Bengaluru location.
