Welcome to the Summa Spotlight series. Here, we’ll introduce you to various team members who’ll share where they’re from, what they do, and what it means to them to be part of the Summa Linguae experience.
Our second guest is Anny Chia, a Localization QA Manager based in Vancouver.
Anny Chia is a real renaissance woman. She runs her own podcast, she’s interviewed movie stars for a magazine, she used to play drums in a rock band, she’s an avid gamer, she loves to cook, and she does all of this while still being a great QA Manager at Summa Linguae.
Anny arrived in Canada in 2016 from South Korea, although she’s originally from Taiwan. In noting some differences in the cultures, she says that Canadians tend to prefer house parties rather than going out to socialize.
She’s a big fan of League of Legends and Starcraft and will sometimes join her fellow Summa teammates in an online battle.
She cares a lot about her teammates, and it very particular when hiring a new member. She wants to make sure they’re not just proficient, but dedicated, engaged, and eager to grow. The team spends a good amount of time on professional development.
At Summa Linguae Technologies, we’re passionate about language and technology. We embrace a diverse and inclusive work environment, and treat all collaborators with respect and equality.
We also strive to grow our team with people who not only share our values, but who contribute to, champion, and live our culture every day.
