Welcome to the Summa Spotlight series. Here, we’ll introduce you to various team members who’ll share where they’re from, what they do, and what it means to them to be part of the Summa Linguae experience.
Our third guest is Carol Montenegro, a Program Manager based in Vancouver.
Carol Montenegro is getting used to life in Vancouver. She’s originally from Panama where they only have “two seasons – raining or sunny.” But Carol and her family are making the most of it, trying to get outside to experience a full change of season.
Just after the Carol started at Summa Linguae, the earth was hit with COVID-19 and she made the decision to take a leave of absence to be with her children. Once things got a little more stable, Carol made her return to the company and shortly thereafter was promoted to Program Manager.
Summa Linguae prides itself on having an international team, and that was one of the factors that attracted Carol to the company. By getting to work with people around the world, Carol finds she can acquire some unique skills. She gets to see how different cultures work through issues, and how they talk about their profession. She’s able to apply this different perspective to her own work now.
